the goal of the bethany newell® brand is to create levels of color that do not exist elsewhere or within the spectrum. color is incredibly specific. with a passion for experimenting with hues and discovering new dimensions, the ultimate rule of thumb for the brand is for color to lean cool.

all lacquers contain a base of blue. each shade is meticulously hand blended. the end result is an intrinsically enhanced formula that prevents shades from yellowing or discoloring.

the bethany newell® philosophy on color is synonymous with that of musical theory. just as music can be heard differently by each individual, the same can be said about seeing color. there are various intonations and decibels of sound that might not be recognized by the average ear, but the sound is omnipresent. similarly, within color, there are endless levels of intensity. color of similar levels might be almost indistinguishable to the eye, but those precise distinctions are what bethany immerses herself in to create the unique. these colors have a high frequency and resonate positively, with an innovative tone.

the backstory

with an exciting career spanning over 20 years, bethany’s work in the fashion, beauty and entertainment industry is known for being iconic and influential. 

she has worked with top photographers such as patrick demarchelier, victor demarchelier, bjorn iooss, robin broadbent, peter lindbergh, inez and vinoodh, tom munro, ellen von unwerth, craig mcdean and mikael jansson... 

some of her most memorable campaigns include sally hansen complete salon manicure and salon effects, tiffany & co., donna karan fashion and fragrance, dkny fashion and fragrance, h. stern with katie holmes, tag heuer with leonardo dicaprio and lancome beauty and fragrance with kate winslet. 

bethany started out as a fashion stylist. she traveled the world, working and living out of a suitcase. when her son dillon was born, she settled in new york and transitioned from stylist to manicurist.
